Do Something Nice, Donate Rice!

Shepparton Foodshare is holding its inaugural 'GREAT RICE DRIVE' this May. The rice drive aims to collect enough rice to provide 25,000 meals to local people that need it most.

Rice is an important food staple which is both nutritious and culturally appropriate, however it is an item that is difficult for us to source. We don't have a regular rice donor and we don't regularly receive it in our food rescues therefore we need your help!

The humble one kilogram bag of rice can provide around eight meals. For less than $2, the cost of a one kilogram bag of rice, you can make a difference. Imagine the smiles you'll create by contributing to meals for families and individuals who need it most in your community. It's a great opportunity to do something nice, and donate rice!

How You Can Help -
Register your business, school, community group, service club or sporting club now as a rice collection point in May and help us reach our goal of collecting enough rice to provide 25,000 meals.

Once registered we will provide you with a digital flyer and social media tile to let your customers, networks, members, supporters know that you are a collection point for rice donations in Shepparton Foodshare's GREAT RICE DRIVE.

As a registered participant in this campaign you will collect rice on Shepparton Foodshare's behalf during May, 2025. Terms and conditions can be found below.

Be A Rice Donation Collection Point and You Could WIN -
All businesses / groups registered that collect and donate 100 kilograms of rice or more to Shepparton Foodshare will go in the draw to win five tickets to our annual fundraising dinner, Make A Meal Of June, at The Woolshed at Emerald Bank on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

If you are an individual wanting to assist, look out for the list of rice collection points, that will be advertised during May, on this website and on our social media. You can select the location most convenient for you to drop your donation of rice into.

Terms and Conditions

You agree to provide all rice donated as part of the Great Rice Drive campaign to Shepparton Foodshare to distribute to the people that need it most across the Goulburn Valley and beyond.
All rice donated must be within its best before date.
All rice donated must be in its original packaging and intact.
All rice donated by your business, school, group or club for the purposes of this rice drive will be received by Shepparton Foodshare no later than Friday, June 6, 2025.
